Peter M. Crane, MD, FAAFP is a board-certified family physician practicing in beautiful rural Idaho since 2011 when he was hired to replace the same physician who delivered him.   He continues to provide full spectrum care in a rural setting.

Dr. Crane’s practice ranges from surgical obstetrics and pediatrics care to chronic disease management and care of nursing home patients. He sees patients in outpatient, inpatient, emergency, and nursing home settings. He has served for over a decade as the voluntary medical director of his county’s emergency medical services and has spent multiple years as chief of staff of a critical care hospital.

In 2022 a devasting medical diagnosis changed his life.  Dr. Crane was diagnosed with a large tumor that required radiation, surgery, and a lengthy rehabilitation process.   He remains free of tumor at this time and continues to find joy in the gift of life he has been given and the ability to continue to work as a physician.  He hopes to help others find joy working as a physician which he still considers the greatest profession.
